I’ve brought you a real review of an empty Panthenol cream tube that I tore open and scraped every last bit out!
Did everyone have a good weekend? Today, I’m going to write a review of the empty containers of one of my absolute favorite items that I unearthed while organizing my vanity for the weekend. I’m not the only one who feels the most satisfied when I take a final photo of a finished cosmetic before throwing it away and write a post like this, right? Haha. The product I’m introducing today is a famous panthenol-based barrier cream that is always at the top of the sales charts at Olive Young. I’m not exaggerating at all—I actually cut the tube in half with scissors and scraped out every last bit of it! ㅠㅠ That just goes to show how good it was!
There is a specific reason why I settled on this cream. During the transition from last winter to this spring, my skin completely broke out from the cold wind; it was stinging, red, and a total mess. Nothing I applied absorbed, so I was wandering around trying different products when I saw a post saying that high-concentration panthenol is a surefire way to repair the skin barrier. I bought this product with some skepticism, though. At first, the texture feels a bit thick and heavy, like an ointment, but if you gently melt it with the warmth of your palms and press it firmly all over your face, you can feel a protective barrier forming right on your skin.
What was really amazing was that I couldn't even sleep properly because my skin was stinging, but after applying a generous amount of this, the redness had subsided noticeably the next morning! Since then, it has become my top pick on my vanity. I applied it every morning and evening, and it ran out in just a month and a half haha. Since my skin barrier became stronger, breakouts don't pop up easily even with minor irritation, and my skin feels like it has gained some strength. It might feel a bit heavy for those with dehydrated oily skin to use in the summer, but for night care or for those like me whose skin barrier has completely collapsed, I really think there is no better lifeline than this ㅠㅠ I'm planning to stop by Olive Young on my way to work tomorrow to stock up on a new one. I'm curious what barrier creams everyone else uses, so please let me know in the comments if you have any good ones haha.
