A pretty decent Dove White Beauty Bar for a soap; a review of my honest purchase after using it for a month instead of cleansing foam.

This is a one-month review of the Dove White Beauty Bar, which I switched to with some skepticism after hearing everyone use soap on their faces.

The most surprising thing is that, unlike regular soap, my face doesn't feel squeaky or dry to the point where it feels like it's cracking even after washing. Perhaps because the Dove Bar is a neutral 'synthet bar' rather than a soap bar containing moisturizing cream, my skin feels surprisingly hydrated even after washing. The lather is dense and soft, even without a net, and the subtle, signature Dove scent makes me feel relaxed every time I wash my face.

However, since I was definitely used to foam cleansers, I am a bit skeptical about its cleansing power. It seems to remove light sunscreen and everyday impurities well, but it is quite difficult to remove long-lasting base makeup or color cosmetics on its own. On days when I wear makeup, I feel reassured only after thoroughly cleansing with oil or water first. Also, if left in a damp bathroom, it gets flimsy surprisingly quickly, so there is the inconvenience of having to use a magnetic holder or a tray with good drainage to make it last longer.

If you don't wear heavy makeup, or are looking for a product to use as a gentle, moisturizing substitute for washing your face with water in the morning, I don't think there is a better holy grail item than this in terms of value for money.
