I applied this on a day when my skin felt like it was going to break out, and it was the first thing I reached for.
Lately, perhaps because I’ve been wearing a mask and the weather has been so unpredictable, my skin has been getting sensitive easily. I’m especially cautious about applying new products when my cheeks sting and feel dry, but I decided to try Ongredients Skin Barrier Calming Lotion because, true to its name, it feels like it provides soothing and barrier care.
First of all, I liked that the texture wasn't too heavy. It spreads smoothly when applied to the face, and I didn't feel much of a stuffy, clogged sensation immediately after application. I applied this product after cleansing in the evening and added just a very small amount of cream on top, and the next morning, my skin looked much calmer.
Rather than feeling like it improved dramatically all of a sudden, I felt like it gently soothed my sensitive skin without any strain.
The scent wasn't too strong, so it wasn't burdensome, and I thought it was a good lotion to use consistently when my skin condition was unstable.
