I ditched the squeaky-clean cleanser and switched to a mildly acidic gel cleanser for the mornings.
During the transitional seasons, when there is a large temperature difference between morning and evening, it is easy for the oil-moisture balance to break down, so protecting the skin barrier is the top priority. That is why I completely change my morning cleansing routine around this time of year. I only use foam cleansers with strong cleansing power that leave the face squeaky clean in the evening to wash away dust, and in the morning, I use a slightly acidic gel cleanser that feels slippery with almost no lather. At first, I felt really uncomfortable because it felt slippery and like my skin wasn't getting clean enough, but after getting used to it for a few days, the tight, tearing sensation I used to have right after washing my face completely disappeared. It feels like it gently removes the excess oil that has slowly risen overnight while preserving the skin's natural moisture, making it truly perfect for sensitive skin during the changing seasons.
