저도 요즘 단거 많이 먹는데 그래서 그런가요
I'm sharing the story of how I completely quit liquid fructose, my skin inflammation cleared up, and I finally saw the light again lol
Hello everyone! Today, instead of the usual beauty product reviews or dermatology procedure reviews I post, I’d like to write a detailed review about how I saw incredible results by improving my daily eating habits without spending a single penny. Haha. I’ve always been a total bread lover, and after lunch at work, I would invariably have a vanilla latte loaded with whipped cream or a brown sugar pearl bubble tea in my hand. Around 3 or 4 PM, when my blood sugar dropped, I couldn't concentrate on work and just got irritable, so my only joy was always keeping a mountain of desserts like jelly, chocolate, and macarons piled up in my desk drawer and eating them one by one.
But starting from around the end of last year, huge, hard, and painful pustular pimples began popping up one by one along my jawline and around my mouth without a break. ㅠㅠ Originally, I would only get one or two occasionally on my chin before my period, but now large, red, inflamed pimples appear one after another without rest. Even when I put on patches, they are noticeable, and the dark scars that follow are completely unbearable. It hurts so much that I cry just from the slightest touch while washing my face. Thinking it might be my skincare, I switched my entire basic routine to mild products, applied expensive spot treatments, and went to the dermatologist every weekend for anti-inflammatory injections, but it only subsided temporarily, and the next week, it would just keep recurring in the spot next to it.
I spent the night scouring the internet, agonizing over what on earth the problem was and what the cause might be. Then I read an article stating that refined carbohydrates found in bread and snacks, along with the high-fructose corn syrup in sugary drinks, cause a massive spike in insulin levels, triggering an explosion of sebum production and severe inflammation. Skeptical, I made a really firm resolution: "Stop throwing money at the dermatologist and just cut out sugar and flour snacks for one month!" Haha. For the first week, I suffered from withdrawal symptoms; I had headaches and felt like I was going to lose my mind. Even when I went to a cafe, I held back and only drank tasteless iced Americanos or peppermint tea. There were countless times when passing by a bakery and smelling the savory aroma of bread caused my rationality to snap and almost paralyze me. ㅠㅠ
But when I entered the really critical second week, I started seeing amazing changes in my body! The excessive oiliness all over my face when I woke up in the morning decreased noticeably, and most importantly, the tiny bumpy sebum plugs that used to cling to my chin every time I washed my face miraculously disappeared completely. Also, the large, cystic acne breakouts that used to pop up every day vanished without a trace. I used the exact same skincare products I normally use, but I got goosebumps thinking, "Is it really possible for my skin texture to become this clear from deep within just by drastically changing my eating habits?" If you're someone who lives with unexplained breakouts, I highly recommend cutting out liquid fructose for just two weeks.
