Pigment Eraser! An Honest Review One Month After Pico Toning Treatment
Hello, Maypure family! Today, I’d like to share my honest review of the Pico Toning treatment I recently decided to pay for myself. Ever since I was young, I’ve loved outdoor activities like cycling and hiking, but I used to skip sunscreen and go around with a bare face because I found it stifling. As a result, starting in my late 20s, melasma and freckles began to creep up around my cheekbones and under my eyes.
At first, it wasn't very dark, so I just roughly covered it with concealer, but as time went on, the color got darker and seemed to spread to my forehead. Every time I took off my makeup and looked in the mirror with a bare face, my skin looked messy, and it was really stressful.
Eventually, I realized that cosmetics alone simply wouldn't be enough, so I went to Maypure for a consultation. The director examined my face with a magnification and explained that while the pigmentation is present in the shallow epidermis, it is also mixed in with the deep dermis, so I needed to receive toning treatments consistently. She highly recommended Pico Toning, noting that its faster pulse speed causes less damage to surrounding healthy skin tissue and breaks down pigments into much finer particles, making it effective for skin like mine. Without hesitation, I immediately purchased a 10-session package.
I have been going once a week and have completed four sessions so far. To give you a very honest review, I am truly feeling with my whole body that "consistency is the answer."
To be honest, after my first and second sessions, I couldn't tell at all if the pigmentation was actually fading even when I looked in the mirror. I was actually warned beforehand that hidden pigmentation might surface and temporarily look darker after the laser treatment, but I was secretly anxious and worried. However, after moving on to the third session and around the fourth, surprisingly, I immediately felt my entire face tone had become much clearer after washing it! As my dull complexion brightened by a shade—as if a fluorescent light had been turned on—the boundaries of my dark spots also blurred relatively, making them appear lighter. I also drastically reduced the amount of concealer I use when applying makeup.
The pain feels like a popping sensation on the face, like thin rubber bands snapping gently, but it is bearable enough even without anesthetic cream. There is some slight redness immediately after the procedure, but it subsides quickly within an hour or two after fixing my hair in the powder room, so as a working professional, I really appreciated that it didn't interfere with going to appointments or daily life right away.
However, one thing to keep in mind is that your skin gets temporarily very dry after laser toning, so you need to apply twice as much regenerating cream and moisturizer as usual. Also, when going out, sunscreen isn't an option; it's a survival necessity!! These days, I make sure to apply it from the moment I get home, even on cloudy or rainy days lol.
I still have 6 sessions left, but I'm already looking forward to seeing how much clearer my skin will become once I finish them all. If you, like me, are stressed looking in the mirror because of growing blemishes, I strongly recommend that you stop spending money on whitening cosmetics and visit a dermatologist as soon as possible to start Pico Toning! It seems the established truth is that your skin improves in proportion to the money you spend on professionals. Haha. I hope everyone gets clear skin!
