I urgently need to get rid of my orange peel-like pores ㅠㅠ Please recommend some pore treatments!
Hello! I've always just been lurking and reading cosmetic reviews here, but I just couldn't take it anymore. I'm so frustrated that I'm cautiously leaving a question. It's because of my biggest concern: my pores. How on earth do you members manage your pores during this hot and humid transition from spring to summer?
With the weather suddenly getting so hot, my skin temperature has risen and sebum production seems to be exploding. The pores on my nose and the surrounding butterfly zone are wide open and making a huge fuss, haha. Every time I wash my face in the morning and look in the mirror, all I see are gaping pores and blackheads embedded in them, which is disgusting and incredibly stressful. Even if I meticulously apply pore primer and put a lot of effort into my makeup in the morning, by lunchtime, the oil around my nose and forehead explodes like a massive oil field, causing my foundation to clump and wear off. It’s driving me crazy because it’s so hard to wipe it off with a cotton swab and do touch-ups.
Right now, the only skincare I'm really diligently doing at home is gently rolling cleansing oil over my face every evening to dissolve sebum, and using a wash-off clay mask once or twice a week to absorb it. Back in my early 20s, I used to get a sense of satisfaction pulling out pores with peel-off nose strips, but I heard that irritating the skin around the pores is a shortcut to making them wider, so I absolutely avoid them now. However, just washing and cleansing like this isn't enough to keep up with the rate at which sebum builds up, and it seems impossible to tighten vertical pores that have already lost elasticity and stretched out with cosmetics alone.
So, I’m taking this opportunity to bite the bullet and seriously look into dermatological procedures. I checked online communities and people say that micro-needle radiofrequency treatments like Potenza or Secret are the most effective for shrinking pores. Since needles are inserted to emit radiofrequency, they supposedly destroy sebaceous glands to reduce oiliness and aid in collagen regeneration, so I’m really tempted. However, I’m a total wimp who is twice as sensitive to pain as most people, so I’m already terrified and sweating over whether I can endure the pain of getting those needles stuck in me with just numbing cream on.
Or, instead of the really painful high-frequency treatment, would it be better to try other laser procedures first, like Aqua Peel for sebum cleansing or Pico Fraxel, which is said to be less painful? ㅠㅠ I've heard that the treatments that work best vary depending on each person's skin type and the depth of their pore scars. If there are any procedures you've seen definite results with for smoothing out pores or reducing sebum production when applying makeup, please share your tips on which one it was and whether the pain was bearable! I would really beg you to please share your tips!
Also, if you have any small daily habits or skincare "holy grail" tips for keeping pores from getting wider during your everyday life at home (like pore ampoules!), I would be so grateful if you could share them with me like crazy haha. Please, please save this basalt-like strawberry nose of mine, beauty experts!! I will be waiting ㅠㅠ
