Body skin care is just as important as facial care. Sharing solutions for snake skin and itching.
Hello everyone! Haha. You're all so serious about managing your facial skin barrier and applying ampoules, but I bet there are quite a few of you who secretly neglect body care because it's hidden under your clothes, right? I also hate the sticky, slippery feeling so much in the summer that I find applying body lotion after showering a total hassle. However, as soon as the cold wind blows and it starts to get dry, white flakes of dead skin magically start to appear on my shins and the outer edges of my forearms, and I start itching like crazy. I am the owner of typical, extremely dry body skin ㅠㅠ. Whenever the seasons change or winter comes, I unconsciously scratch my legs like crazy in the middle of the night, to the point where I wake up in the morning with scabs and wounds. So, I thought I'd share a few tips for body moisturizing during the changing seasons that I've settled on after years of painful trial and error! First off, make sure the water temperature is lukewarm when showering—just warm enough so it isn't cold! Many of you probably enjoy soaking your entire body in hot water like a sauna to relieve the day's fatigue, but I’ve learned that is actually the main culprit for stripping moisture from your skin and damaging your skin barrier. Also, instead of alkaline foams that leave your skin squeaky clean, I use oil washes or mildly acidic cream-type washes. Even if they lather less and have slightly weaker cleansing power, they leave a slippery, moisturizing film on the skin after rinsing. The most important thing is the "golden time" right after showering! Don't scrub your entire body dry with a towel; instead, just pat it gently to remove moisture, and apply the products immediately while the bathroom humidity is still there. I mix a thick, highly moisturizing ceramide lotion with unscented body oil in a 1:1 ratio in my palms and spread it evenly all over my body like a coating. Once you create this oil film, the moisture doesn't evaporate even after you leave the bathroom, so you won't feel cold, and the moisture is locked in tightly, ensuring your skin never feels dry until the next shower. Even if you wear scratchy knits or stockings, static electricity won't build up, and the itching you get from scratching at night will completely disappear. While you're using expensive face masks, let's make sure to pay attention to our bodies and moisturize generously! Haha.
