Which acne treatment is safe and effective?

Although I experienced the skin improvement I had hoped for after receiving Fraxel treatment, to be honest, I am under a lot of stress because the side effect of facial redness has lasted longer than expected. At first, I thought it would naturally subside over time, but even after several months, my face continues to turn red easily and react sensitively to external stimuli. Therefore, while I am currently considering a new acne treatment, I am honestly more worried about the possibility of developing other side effects.

It has been quite a while since I first visited a dermatologist due to acne, and during that time, I have researched and compared various acne treatments. At the time, I chose Fraxel after hearing that it was effective for scar improvement and skin texture enhancement; however, after experiencing it firsthand, I realized that not all acne treatments are equally suitable for every individual's skin condition. In particular, side effects that can affect daily life, such as redness, felt like a much greater burden than I had anticipated.

As acne has recently started resurfacing, I am deeply concerned about whether I should undergo another acne treatment. Although there are various options such as extraction, laser therapy, and medication, it is difficult to make a decision easily because my skin is already sensitive. While those around me advise starting with relatively mild treatments, I am hesitant to choose one due to concerns that the results might not be sufficient.

I am also deeply concerned about whether a new procedure is appropriate given my current skin condition. Having heard that receiving an irritating treatment while redness persists could worsen my symptoms, I believe it is crucial to restore my skin barrier first. Accordingly, I have recently been using hypoallergenic skincare products and making efforts to improve my lifestyle habits.

Nevertheless, since acne itself continues to be a constant concern, it is difficult to completely let go of the thought of acne treatment. In fact, through past experiences, I have realized that I need to approach this more cautiously, and I believe it is important to choose an acne treatment that suits my current skin condition rather than simply considering the effectiveness.

Ultimately, the biggest concern is determining which acne treatment is both safe and effective. Rather than blindly choosing aggressive treatments as in the past, I believe it is advisable to make a decision after receiving an accurate diagnosis through sufficient consultation with a dermatologist. The redness I experienced after Fraxel was certainly not an easy experience, but I believe it served as an opportunity for me to gain a deeper understanding of my skin.

Going forward, rather than expecting short-term results, I intend to choose acne treatments that allow for gradual improvement while stably managing my skin condition.
