I finally understand the saying that for dry skin, moisturizing comes before treatments.
Honestly, I thought that if I went to a dermatologist, things would get better right away.
I thought that getting a laser treatment or a facial treatment just once would make my face clearer and completely improve my skin texture, but after actually receiving it, I felt that the effects didn't last long unless my skin was properly moisturized.
Perhaps because I have dry skin, there are times when my skin becomes more sensitive for a few days after a procedure.
At first, I was worried thinking this might be a side effect, but I found out that if your skin barrier is weak, it can feel drier during the recovery process.
These days, I'm not being too ambitious with pre- and post-procedure care; I'm just focusing on soothing and moisturizing.
I took a break from whitening and functional products for a few days, and I washed my face as gently as possible, so it definitely stings less.
For those of you with dry skin like me who have started dermatological procedures, do you have a skincare routine you make sure to follow before and after the treatment?
