Am I the only one whose skin doesn't look good even though I don't have any blemishes?

I don't have skin that gets really bad acne.
Anyone looking at me might say, “Your skin looks fine,” but whenever I look in the mirror, I am constantly bothered by the fact that my skin doesn’t look clear.

I don't have major breakouts or a lot of blemishes, but my skin looks dull overall.
Especially when I get home from work and look in the mirror before removing my makeup, should I say my face looks a bit grayish?
My skin lacks vitality and isn't smooth, so even when I apply makeup, it doesn't look neat.

In the past, I used to judge whether skin was good or bad based solely on acne, but these days, I don't think that is necessarily the case.
I felt like my skin looked good only when pores, texture, hydration, and tone all matched together.

I was thinking of changing my basic skincare products, so I tried using a hydrating ampoule and an exfoliator, but I still don't really feel like my skin has definitely improved.
Exfoliating frequently makes the skin smooth for a while, but it also feels like it becomes sensitive.

What on earth should I do first for skin like this?
I am wondering whether I should consult a dermatologist or continue with home care more consistently.
If there are others like me who don't really have any major issues but whose skin doesn't look good, I'm curious where you started.
