I give my skin a rest day every weekend.

Since I wear makeup and go out a lot on weekdays, I feel like my skin is constantly being irritated. So, I plan to spend at least one day on the weekend as a rest day for my skin.

I try not to wear makeup as much as possible on these days. If I don't have any plans, I just apply sunscreen and a light lip product, and I go about my day feeling like I'm giving my skin time to breathe haha. It actually makes me feel more at ease just by cutting out a lot of things.

I also keep my skincare routine simpler than usual. I don't apply many functional products and tend to focus mainly on moisturizing. Since I think of it as a day for my skin to rest, I actually find myself following a less irritating routine.

And I also try to get a little more sleep on weekends. I've noticed that catching up on sleep I missed during the week definitely makes a difference in my skin condition the following week. I realize every single time just how important sleep really is.

Managing my skin like this, giving it a day of rest, seems to work quite well for me. Taking good care of it every day is good, but I think taking a break once in a while is necessary too, haha.
