On days when my skin is sensitive, should I reduce my skincare routine or apply more?
My skin wasn't exactly resilient to begin with, but lately, there have been an unusually high number of days when it feels particularly sensitive. Even when using the exact same products as usual, there are days when my face suddenly feels hot or my cheeks turn red, and after washing my face, my skin feels tight and even stings slightly.
Whenever this happens, I wonder if I should minimize my basic skincare routine. Some people say to keep it simple with just toner and cream when my skin is sensitive, while others say I need to apply ampoule and cream more generously to restore the skin barrier. So, it actually makes me even more confused, haha.
I'm afraid that applying this and that might make my skin break out even more, but if I don't apply anything at all, it dries out quickly and feels like my skin becomes more sensitive. Especially lately, perhaps because it's the change of seasons, my skin condition seems to fluctuate more severely.
How do you members manage your skin when it's sensitive? I'm curious if you tend to soothe it with a minimal routine, or if you add barrier care products for intensive care. Please also recommend any soothing products or barrier creams you've had good experiences with!
