Is it more effective for moisturizing the skin the more basic skincare products you apply? How many do you use?
I used to think that the more steps in my basic skincare routine, the more moisturized my skin would get, lol. You know how often people end up layering on this and that? I used to be the same way; I would only feel at ease if I applied a whole lot of products, from toner and essence to Roem, ampoule, and cream.
However, I heard that actually, just because you apply a lot of basic skincare products doesn't mean all the ingredients are absorbed deep into the skin. In fact, since there is a limit to how much the skin can absorb, applying too much can cause the products to sit on the surface, clog pores and cause breakouts, or prevent the skin from breathing.
Just like the saying "too much of a good thing is bad," I think our skin needs just the right amount of hydration and adequate rest rather than excessive nutrition. How many products do you usually use in your basic skincare routine? I'm also curious if you've ever experienced your skin improving after reducing the number of products.
