Does a sauna actually help with the elimination of skin waste?
I got recommendations from people around me to try a sauna. They said that sweating it out in a hot place flushes out accumulated toxins and waste from the body, making the skin smooth and the complexion clear. I wonder if that's really true...
But now that I'm actually thinking about going to the sauna, I'm worried it might actually be bad for my skin. I can't bring myself to go right away. I feel like the hot heat hitting my skin directly might widen my pores, and more than anything, I think the rising skin temperature will strip away all the moisture, making the dryness extremely severe. My skin is already on the dry side, so I'm scared that my skin barrier might completely break down.
Has anyone seen skin care effects from frequently visiting saunas or steam rooms?
