Please tell me how to soothe skin exposed to UV rays.
The weather was so nice over the weekend that I spent a long time outdoors, and even though I applied sunscreen thoroughly, the area around my cheeks is red and burning. The heat sensation isn't subsiding easily, and I can feel my skin has become extremely sensitive.
As soon as I got home yesterday, I lightly washed my face with cold water and put it in the refrigerator. I applied a thick layer of aloe soothing gel to bring down the heat initially. However, the heat still lingers to this day.
Aloe gel feels like it dries out quickly once it dries, so I am cautious about what kind of cream to apply over it to ensure it absorbs well without irritation.
Would using a modeling pack be more effective in this situation? Or would it be better to just apply a generous amount of Cica cream and go to sleep? If you have your own emergency remedy that worked instantly for when your skin felt hot, please be sure to share it in the comments!
