Every year, whenever the seasons change—from spring to summer, or from autumn to winter—my skin invariably screams in agony. This time was no exception. When I woke up, my entire face was flushed red, accompanied by itching and tiny, unexplained bumps around my forehead and cheeks. It was a depressing period where I didn't even want to go out because dead skin cells clumped up terribly whenever I applied makeup.
However, this time I didn't panic and strictly followed the skin reset routine for two weeks, and thankfully, I have now fully recovered a smooth complexion. There were exactly two key factors that worked for me.
The first step was stopping the use of cleansing oil. I usually used a powerful oil to remove makeup, but with my skin barrier weakened, even the oil emulsification process was irritating. I boldly switched to a gentle milk-type cleanser and spent more time washing my face with water than usual.
The second is making modeling packs a part of my daily routine. Every evening, as the final step of my skincare routine, I applied a cooling tea tree or cool tea tree modeling pack to forcibly lower my skin temperature.
Rather than pouring on expensive ampoules, the correct answer was to minimize irritation and lower the temperature so the skin could recover on its own. If you are currently suffering severely from the toxins of the changing seasons, stop buying more cosmetics and focus on basic cleansing and cooling!
