How often do you wash the puff of your cushion foundation?

I use a cushion foundation for touch-ups and base makeup every day when I go to work, so I'm suddenly curious about how often I should wash this puff—how often do other people wash it? ㅠㅠ I know hygiene is super important since it touches my face directly every day, but honestly, washing it every time is such a hassle that I keep putting it off.

I usually only wash my puffs with foam cleanser or a dedicated detergent when I can roughly tell they're soaked in foundation and look grubby. However, it feels a bit unsanitary to pat my face with a puff that has been left sitting around for days, and I suspect my breakouts might be caused by it. I've heard that the residue left on the puff mixes with sebum and dust from my face, creating the perfect environment for bacteria to breed.

Lately, I've been getting unexplained red breakouts and small, bumpy pimples around my chin and cheeks, and I'm wondering if this isn't a problem with the cosmetics but rather a side effect caused by a dirty puff.
