How to Restore the Skin Barrier When It Stings Even Just by Washing Your Face
Recently, I exfoliated excessively, and my skin barrier completely broke down. Even just applying toner caused stinging, and my entire face turned red and itchy. This is the secret to how I restored my glowing skin by ditching all functional cosmetics and focusing solely on barrier care for just three days.
Ceramide / Cholesterol / Fatty Acid (C-C-G) Cream: When the skin barrier is compromised, you must apply a cream containing ingredients similar to the skin's lipid structure. I frequently reapplied pharmacy products or specialized barrier creams.
Skip water cleansing or water toner: In the morning, I completely skipped cleansing foam and rinsed lightly with lukewarm water only. I absolutely avoided using a cotton pad to wipe the skin, as it causes irritation. I applied the product by pressing it firmly onto the skin with my hands only.
After doing this for exactly three days, the stinging sensation completely disappeared, the redness subsided, and my skin started to regain its glow. When your skin hurts, try thinking of cosmetics as a 'cure' and focusing solely on barrier ingredients.
