A red mark next to the nose... Pigmentation? Blood vessels?

I am writing to inquire because the side of my nose has been looking particularly red lately. At first, I thought it was just the mark of a breakout that had passed, but even though quite some time has passed, the red marks remain. It seems to get redder after washing my face, and it is quite noticeable when I am not wearing makeup, so it is bothering me. I have had pimples on the side of my nose a few times in the past, so I wonder if touching or squeezing them with my hands back then might be the cause. The redness also seems to stand out a bit more when my skin is dry. I have tried applying soothing creams and moisturizers at home, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. I am curious whether these red marks on the side of my nose are simply acne scars or if they are due to blood vessels or other skin issues. Can a dermatologist accurately identify the cause? I am also curious if treatments like laser therapy would actually significantly lighten the redness, and I would like to ask the clinic staff for advice on what kind of care is best to do at home.
