Is acne treatment more effective after adulthood?

I am thinking of taking a professional acne treatment program.

You mentioned methods that involve destroying the sebaceous glands themselves or combining them with medication. I am concerned that treating acne this way might cause severe dryness—such as my lips or entire body becoming parched—as a side effect of the medication. Also, is there a possibility that my skin's protective barrier weakens after the laser procedure, causing it to easily turn red from even minor irritation or potentially changing my skin type to become sensitive?

If anyone has undergone long-term acne treatment due to a sudden skin breakdown as an adult, I am curious to know if sebum production actually decreases and if new inflammation is brought under control! Thank you for reading.
