Back in my school days, I forcibly picked at acne around my cheeks with my fingernails, leaving me with several boxcar-shaped scars that were round and crater-like. It was so stressful because those areas cast shadows every time I applied makeup. Home regenerating creams just weren't working to fill the skin in, so I finally mustered up the courage to go to a dermatology clinic and get subcision, a procedure to break the fibrous tissues adhering beneath the scars. It was a little scary hearing the snapping sound when the needle went in, but thanks to the anesthesia, the pain was bearable. It's been about a week now, and while I have a slight bruise, it's fascinating to see the indented grooves subtly filling in and rounding out. I plan to continue receiving treatment regularly.
