Escaping my patchy, dull skin tone ㅠㅠ I'm curious about the duration of the blemish treatment!
Hello haha. I've been working an unusually large amount of overtime this year and getting really stressed out from dragging my laptop to cafes on weekends, so at some point I looked in the mirror and saw my face covered in dark, unwelcome spots. Since I work as an IT project manager, lack of sleep is a given, and perhaps because my skin turnover cycle is a mess, the blemishes and pigmentation that appeared just didn't seem to be fading at all ㅠㅠ. There's a limit to just dabbing concealer over them every morning, and since it only made my makeup look thicker, I decided to look into treatments for blemishes.
To be honest, there are so many types of lasers that I was completely at a loss as to which one to get. However, after thoroughly reading reviews on online communities and consulting with a clinic, I decided to proceed with a blemish treatment that targets pigmentation in the superficial layers. Since it was my first time getting a laser, I did flinch a few times internally whenever it stung or smelled like burning squid, but they worked meticulously, so I was able to lie there comfortably and trust them.
On the day of the procedure, I was flustered because the area where the pigment was swollen like a mosquito bite and a slight scab formed. However, I read the instructions until they were worn out, absolutely refused to touch it with my hands, and just applied a generous amount of regenerating cream. After about a week, the scab naturally fell off, and I could clearly see that the dull marks in that spot had brightened up by a tone!
Since it's only my first session, my skin isn't perfectly clear like jade yet, but I'm so happy just knowing that my complexion has brightened up and I hear people say I look tired less often haha. However, I heard that even if you get laser treatment to remove them, they come back if you get UV rays. How long do the effects of blemish treatments usually last? Do they last a long time just by getting them all removed once and applying sunscreen properly, or do I need to go back periodically for maintenance? I'm really curious to hear your real experiences,先輩s! ㅠㅠ
