My face has completely lost all moisture, and more importantly, my skin elasticity has dropped drastically like a deflated balloon, causing the pores around my cheeks to become deeply pitted like scars. I used to only worry about wrinkles around my eyes and nasolabial folds, so I never imagined the holes in my skin would get this big. Every time I wash my face and look in the mirror, seeing the rough texture of my butterfly zone makes me sigh involuntarily. When I go to neighborhood gatherings or social clubs, close acquaintances tell me that they go to dermatologists these days to get their skin completely smoothed out with lasers, and they specifically and enthusiastically recommend that I get a pore treatment as well.

I would love to find a good clinic and pay for the procedure right away, but I have a lot of concerns because my skin is very sensitive and has become quite thin with age. I am terrified that rashly applying heat to my face or using scary lasers that abrade the surface of the skin might actually worsen my redness or cause my skin to break out completely. Even after searching diligently on mom cafes and internet blogs, I find tons of reviews from young women in their 20s and 30s with excellent recovery abilities; it is difficult to find stories from people like me—in my mid-50s or older—who have undergone pore treatments on thin, sagging, and sensitive skin.

Are there any members in my age group who have recently visited a dermatology clinic to personally experience pore treatments? I am very curious about the detailed recovery process, including how severe the pain is when receiving injections or lasers on the face, whether scabs form, and how long the face remains red. Most importantly, please share your honest, candid review: did you really see results that made your face firmer and improved your skin texture enough to justify the high cost and pain at my age, or would it be better to just go to a massage shop for moisturizing treatments?
