I changed my evening cleansing habit and my skin texture has changed a bit.
What I consider the most important part of skincare is washing my face in the evening. Honestly, there were days when I was too tired and just washed my face quickly before going to bed, but I could immediately tell the difference in my skin condition the next day.
So these days, no matter how late it gets, I try to wash my face thoroughly. Even on days when I don't wear makeup, I still apply sunscreen, so I make sure to cleanse. However, I don't scrub hard or harshly; I try to finish as gently as possible.
I also reduced my cleansing time. In the past, I used to wash my face for a long time because I liked the refreshing feeling, but that actually caused my skin to dry out. Now, I wash quickly, just doing what is necessary, and move straight on to moisturizing.
I tend to apply a generous amount of cream in the evening. I find that finishing with a much more moisturizing finish than in the morning makes my skin feel comfortable the next day. On days when the area around my mouth or cheeks feels dry, I apply an extra layer.
It might seem trivial, but just changing my cleansing habits makes my skin feel a bit less sensitive. It seems there's a reason they say basic skincare is more important than expensive cosmetics.
