Skincare Routine: Gua Sha Massage Routine for Swelling Reduction and Line Management
I bought a gua sha on a friend's recommendation and have been massaging my neck and jawline every evening. At first, it felt a little painful, but after repeating it for a few days, the swelling went down quickly, and I could visibly see my facial lines becoming more defined. In particular, it helped reduce puffiness around my eyes when I woke up in the morning, so it has now become an essential part of my daily routine.
I always start by using a steam towel to improve blood circulation in my face before doing Gua Sha, and I feel like this helps lymphatic drainage work better. Applying a generous amount of oil and repeating the motion of moving down from behind the ears to the collarbone line leaves me feeling refreshed, as if the day's fatigue has melted away. I found it much more efficient than a manual massage because it applies consistent pressure.
If you haven't tried gua sha yet, I recommend starting with an affordable tool and practicing consistently. However, please be careful not to press too hard, as this can cause bruising, and if you have a metal allergy, I recommend ceramic tools. What oils or creams do you use when doing gua sha? Please recommend some products that are effective for reducing swelling.
