These days, I take care of my own skin with a cosmetics diet.
In the past, whenever my skin became sensitive or breakouts occurred, I used to apply even more products. As I added all sorts of highly-rated ampoules, creams, and face masks, my skincare routine just kept getting longer. But at some point, I started to feel like my skin was becoming even more stuffy and sensitive... That is why I began a "cosmetic diet."
At first, I was unnecessarily anxious and wondered if applying only this would be okay, but surprisingly, I felt my skin becoming much more comfortable. Now, there are many days when I simply cleanse, refine my skin texture with a toner, and apply just a moisturizer. On days when my skin is sensitive and irritated, I take a break from using functional products or exfoliating to minimize irritation as much as possible.
Especially during the summer, I found that using only the essential products suited me better than applying heavy layers. Reducing the number of products made my skin feel less stuffy and reduced makeup creasing. Most importantly, I was able to identify more clearly which products worked for my skin. These days, I feel that maintaining a comfortable state of the skin is the most important aspect of skincare, rather than applying a lot of products.
