I started laser hair removal because shaving every day was a hassle (sharing recommended sessions) "Maypure Cheonho Branch"
📌 1. Visited Branch: "Maypure Cheonho Branch"
Hello everyone! Haha. As the weather gradually gets warmer, I'm dressing more lightly and finding myself wearing short sleeves and skirts more often. My hair is particularly thick and grows fast, so removing it every summer was a total chore and a real stressful task for me. Shaving with a razor every day while showering irritated my skin, causing it to turn red and bumpy, and I even got ingrown hairs, leaving my face a total mess. I even tried waxing at a salon, but it hurt so much when they pulled it off that I practically cried, and the cost was steep, making it a burden to get it done consistently. So, I decided to take this opportunity to say goodbye to hair completely and got laser hair removal, so I visited a dermatologist. Haha.
To be honest, I was really hesitant because laser hair removal prices vary by area and there are so many different types of machines. However, a friend recommended a place with great reviews, so I trusted them and made an appointment. When I told the consultant that my underarms and calves were the most urgent areas, they explained that I need to receive treatments consistently, tailored to the hair thickness and growth cycle, to see results. What I was most curious about was the recommended number of sessions. They explained in detail that while there are individual differences due to varying hair volume and thickness, you generally need at least 5 sessions at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks to notice the hair becoming as thin as downy down and the density decreasing.
I was told to shave thoroughly at home the day before the procedure, so I went fully prepared. I was told that if the hair is long, the laser energy won't reach the follicles and will just burn on the surface of the skin, posing a risk of burns. When I arrived at the clinic, I changed into a gown and lay down in the treatment room. As cold air blew and the laser beams crackled, it only felt like a slight prickling sensation from being snapped by a rubber band, and it was over in no time! The director applied the laser carefully, ensuring the lasers didn't overlap, so I think the procedure took less than 10 minutes. Afterward, they even applied ointment to soothe my skin.
I've completed my third laser hair removal session so far, and the results are already amazing! The rate at which my hair grows has definitely slowed down noticeably. The hairs that used to grow thick and stiff like pencil lead are now coming in as fine, downy hairs, so I've drastically reduced how often I have to shave. Since there is less skin irritation, issues like ingrown hairs and hyperpigmentation have naturally resolved, making my skin much smoother. I plan to make sure I get through all the remaining recommended sessions so I can confidently wear sleeveless tops this summer! If you're like me and find shaving every day a hassle and struggle with skin trouble, I really hope you start as soon as possible!
