Can people with skin that reddens easily also expect melasma treatment to be effective?

I am concerned about the brown pigmentation around my cheeks, so I am looking into melasma treatment, but I am a little worried about starting the procedure because my skin tends to turn red easily.

There are days when my cheeks turn red after washing my face or applying skincare products, and when I'm not feeling well, even products that are usually fine can feel stinging. I worry that receiving a pigment laser treatment on this type of skin might cause more severe irritation.

Can I expect effective melasma treatment even on sensitive skin?

I am wondering if it is possible to adjust the intensity or frequency while monitoring the skin's reaction, especially if this is my first time receiving melasma treatment. If there is currently redness on the skin, would it be better to stabilize the skin first rather than focusing on pigmentation management?

I would also like to know the extent of redness or heat sensation that may occur after melasma treatment. I am curious whether I need to allow a longer recovery period if my skin is sensitive, and if there are any cosmetic ingredients or aftercare methods I should avoid before and after the procedure. Even if the effects appear a little slowly, I want to start with a method that minimizes irritation.
