If the area under my eyes looks dark, should I check first whether it is pigmentation or shadows?

I am curious about what is checked first when consulting about concerns regarding dark under-eyes. I am familiar with the term "dark circles," but it seems that even issues referred to by the same name can vary quite a bit in shape and color if examined closely. I would like to know if the approach to the consultation differs depending on whether the darkness is caused by pigmentation or by shadows formed by sunken areas.

I am curious about cases where the under-eye boundary is not very noticeable from the front, but becomes distinct when illuminated from above. To explain this difference, would it be helpful to show you a frontal photo taken in a bright place alongside a photo taken under the lighting conditions I am usually concerned about? I feel it would be difficult to determine the cause on my own just by looking at the photos.

You know how the under-eye area can look closer to brown or have a bluish tint. Sometimes both might appear together, or it might be ambiguous which one it is. I am wondering if the consultation examines skin thickness and contours in addition to color. Even if I simply say, "I am concerned about looking tired," do you ask the necessary questions to identify the cause?

Even though I am looking into consultations in the Hwajeong area, I am a bit hesitant to go with a specific procedure decided upon right away. Rather than simply wanting to make my under-eye area brighter, I would like to first understand why it looks dark and have the options available for my specific case explained. I am also curious if there are cases where lifestyle management or monitoring the progress is recommended before a procedure.

If both the blackout and color issues are involved, I would like to ask whether you proceed with multiple steps at once or check one aspect first before determining the next. I suspect the expected changes will differ for each case. It would make it easier to decide if I could hear an explanation in advance regarding which aspects can improve and which might remain the same.

Since the procedure is performed near the eyes, I would also like to ask about the recovery process. If I am recommended the procedure during the consultation, how much detail should I be concerned about regarding swelling, bruising, and precautions for daily life? If I have an important schedule, I am wondering if simply mentioning the date is sufficient, or if I need to separately provide information such as whether I tend to swell easily.

I'd also like to know if it's a good idea to remove my makeup before the consultation. I think my appearance might look different with under-eye concealer on compared to my bare face. I'm also curious if it would be helpful to write down the names of the eye makeup I usually use or the dates of any procedures I've had in the past. Since it's my first consultation, there's actually quite a lot to prepare, haha.

I would appreciate it if those who have consulted with similar concerns could share what explanations helped them narrow down their options. Rather than being recommended a specific procedure, I would like to know the questions that should not be missed during a consultation. I would like to inquire if the Maypure Hwajeong branch can also provide a consultation that specifically identifies these under-eye concerns first.
