Does getting trapezius Botox help with shoulder stiffness as well?
Perhaps because I am a working mom in an office job who spends all day staring at a computer monitor typing, my shoulders and neck are always stiff and heavy, like rocks. I’ve tried visiting Korean medicine clinics and getting Thai massages, and I’ve diligently done foam roller stretching, but the relief is only temporary. Because my trapezius muscles bulge out like mountains, my neck looks short, and it’s frustrating that even when I wear nice clothes, they don't fit well. A close colleague at work enthusiastically recommends it, saying she gets trapezius Botox every year before summer. She says it’s great for improving the neckline aesthetically, but it’s also the best way to relieve chronic shoulder stiffness. While many people get it for cosmetic purposes to look good in off-shoulder tops, I’m really intrigued to hear that trapezius Botox is highly recommended for therapeutic purposes for people like me who live with chronic shoulder pain. I understand that the principle of Botox is to reduce muscle size and relieve tension, but my biggest concern is whether reducing the shoulder muscles will cause discomfort, such as a loss of strength in my arms when lifting heavy objects or going about daily activities.
I heard that trapezius Botox typically causes a bit of stiffness for a few days after the first injection. For those of you who have tried it yourself, are you really satisfied? Please share your tips on how to get beautiful shoulders!
