Pure Vitamin C Ampoule Review: Enduring the stinging was worth it lol
Is everyone having a great Friday night? Haha. Whenever Friday night comes, I tend to step up my functional home skincare routine, anticipating just lounging around at home all weekend without makeup. Today, I’d like to share a genuine one-month review of a highly concentrated pure Vitamin C ampoule that I recently mustered up the courage to try. I’ve always been incredibly interested in Vitamin C products because my skin tone is getting duller with age, and faint dark spots are popping up on my cheekbones. However, since my skin is sensitive—sensitive to friction and reacts easily to cosmetics—I couldn't bring myself to try them right away. I felt that products containing vitamin derivatives were gentle but had minimal effects, while there were many reviews saying that pure Vitamin C stings and is irritating when applied, so I just kept adding them to my cart and agonizing over it. Then, looking at my yellowish complexion in the mirror, I impulsively clicked the purchase button. ㅠㅠ
The first day I applied it, I seriously thought my face was on fire, haha. It stung and burned so intensely, like someone had sprinkled a lot of salt on tiny cuts, that I worried I might get dermatitis and wondered if I should wash it off with cold water right away. But everyone told me that it’s normal the first time, so I endured it, patted it in to help with absorption, and then applied a generous amount of thick regenerating cream. Fortunately, my face didn't turn red or break out the next morning, and after applying it every other day for a few days to get used to it, the stinging sensation surprisingly decreased a lot.
I've been using this consistently for about a month now, exclusively during my nighttime skincare routine, and wow... I really have to admit it's amazing. You can clearly see with your own eyes that my skin tone has become clearer overall and brightened up as if a fluorescent light had been turned on! Since my complexion has cleared up, my face looks radiant even when I use my usual shade for base makeup. I heard that pure Vitamin C products are sensitive to light and heat and oxidize easily, so I keep it in my cosmetic refrigerator and use it chilled. I still can't get used to that distinctive, slightly fishy smell like tuna sauce, but considering this level of complexion improvement, I think it's a product well worth enduring the smell and the temporary stinging. If you're worried about dullness, give this a try!
