Are there any great tips to get the most out of blemish treatments that remove dark freckles?

I simply can't stand the freckles and age spots scattered all over my face like sesame seeds, so I plan to get rid of them completely this winter. Since my skin is quite thin, I am scared about whether I can withstand the laser treatment to burn off the blemishes, but for the sake of clear skin, I intend to just close my eyes and endure it.
