For those who have received acne scar treatment, how satisfied are you?

I've been bothered by the scars I accidentally messed with during puberty even after becoming an adult, so I've finally decided to bite the bullet and get acne scar treatment. There's a limit to how much I can cover them up with makeup, and the pitted marks are so visible under bright lights that it really stresses me out. Are there any of you who have had acne scar treatments and found your skin to be smooth afterward?
To be honest, I have been putting off acne scar treatment because of the widespread rumors that it is very painful. However, if the satisfaction is high enough to justify the pain, I am willing to endure it. I am curious if the treatment is dramatic enough to visibly fill in pitted scars. I am also wondering if combining it with procedures like laser treatment or subcision leads to higher satisfaction.
