Can pigmentation be resolved with a laser?

I got a wound on my chin when I was young.

Dark scars remained due to hyperpigmentation.

I heard that pigmentation can be resolved with laser treatment.

I was curious if it could resolve hyperpigmentation that had been there for quite a while.

Also, the area is quite large, so I'm not sure if it can be resolved.

It doesn't show from the front.

I could see it if I looked from the side or from below.

I always cover it up with makeup, but it's actually kind of stressing me out.

I would like to resolve hyperpigmentation as much as possible, even with whitening products

It seems like it can't be resolved since so much time has already passed.

I wasn't sure if my skin would regenerate.
