Faint freckles have settled all over my face like fog.
Instead of distinct, dark spots, my melasma consists of fine particles spread widely and blurry like a fog, making my face look incredibly messy—as if dust has been piled all over it. I went for a consultation, and I was told that for this type of stubborn melasma with indistinct boundaries, improper laser intensity control can actually stimulate melanin cells, leading to hyperpigmentation—a side effect where the pigmentation becomes even darker. Since this is deep pigmentation that absolutely cannot be removed with topical cosmetics, I am afraid of harsh procedures. Is there anything that can safely break down melanin and correct skin tone while minimizing skin irritation? I would appreciate it if those who hesitated due to fear of laser side effects like me, or those who struggled with faint, stubborn melasma all over their face but managed to achieve a clear and clean tone without skin damage, could share their experiences.
