For those of you who have treated melasma, how did you manage your skin?

I'm writing this because there is a part of my skin that constantly bothers me whenever I do my makeup.

I didn't used to worry much about my skin tone, but at some point, I started seeing freckles on my cheekbones and cheeks.

At first, it looked like a small dot, so I assumed it was just a blemish, but I started to get worried because it felt like the area was getting wider.

It is especially noticeable when I am barefaced, and it seems to look even darker under lighting.

It’s okay if I cover it with concealer, but applying thick makeup every day is also a burden on my skin.

So lately I've been looking into melasma treatments, but I'm worried because it seems harder to manage than I thought.

I've seen a lot of talk saying that melasma treatment isn't just about removing pigmentation, but that aftercare is also important.

I heard that it is important to protect your skin from UV rays and avoid irritating it.

I used to be the type to just apply sunscreen haphazardly because it was a hassle, but lately I've been making sure to bring it whenever I go out.

I'm debating whether it would be better to just manage the existing melasma with home care or to get some treatment.

I am most curious about whether there are definitely visible effects if I receive melasma treatment.

I'm even more confused because some people around me say their skin has improved enough to look clearer, while others say they didn't notice as much of a difference as they expected.

I am also curious whether the effectiveness varies significantly from person to person or if it depends on which method is chosen.

And melasma treatment doesn't end just because it improves once.

I heard that you have to keep managing it, so I'm curious if that's really the case.
