Dark spots are spreading on both of my cheekbones. How do you all manage this?
I haven't even been very active outdoors, but light brown spots started creeping up above both my cheekbones like smoke, and lately, the color has gotten noticeably darker. Before, a light dab of concealer would cover them naturally, but now, even if I layer on high-coverage foundation, those spots look particularly patchy and dull, so I can't even imagine going out without makeup. Sigh. I've tried using famous department store whitening serums and high-concentration Vitamin C ampoules, going through bottles of them, but the pigmentation must be deeply rooted because there is absolutely no sign of it fading. I just sigh every time I look in the mirror. I'm afraid that blindly getting strong toning laser treatments regularly might damage my skin barrier and cause the pigmentation to flare up even more intensely later on. If anyone has received dermatological treatment for patchy melasma around their cheekbones like me and has found a method that actually lightened the pigmentation and evened out the skin tone, please give me some advice.
