I am planning to visit a dermatologist for the first time. Is there a separate fee just for a consultation?

I have hardly ever been to a dermatologist properly, so I’m thinking of starting with a consultation, but I realize there’s more I don’t know than I thought, haha. I haven’t specifically decided on one particular procedure; lately, my skin seems dull, I’m seeing fine blemishes, and it doesn’t have the same elasticity as it used to, so I want to get an overall assessment of my skin condition. However, when I search for dermatology clinics, some charge a separate consultation fee while others offer free ones, so I’m curious how the process usually works during a first visit. I’m not sure if the doctor or manager just recommends various things if I go in and talk about my skin concerns, or if I need to mention the specific procedure I want first. Honestly, I’m a bit worried that if I get a consultation, they might tell me this is good and that is good, and I might end up paying a much higher amount than I expected. I just want to know what my skin's priorities are, and I prefer to try things one by one rather than trying to do everything at once. I’m also wondering if I can ask about side effects, recovery time, and how long the results last during the consultation, in addition to the price. I’d also like to know if it’s okay to just have a consultation first and schedule the procedure separately later.
