Is folliculitis common after laser hair removal?

I am considering laser hair removal for my philtrum and chin. After researching the post-procedure recovery, I learned that there are many cases of folliculitis occurring at the treated site, characterized by white pus formation.

I would like to know if the thermal stimulation from the laser affects hair follicles and the skin barrier, which is a major cause of folliculitis, and if it occurs more frequently in skin types with excessive sebum secretion or thick hair roots. Additionally, I would like to request information regarding preventive measures taken by the dermatologist to reduce the risk of folliculitis before and after the procedure (such as preemptive ointment application), hygiene guidelines that patients must follow after the procedure, and how to handle the situation if it occurs.
In other words, I am wondering if the dermatology clinic prescribes ointments or provides separate pre-treatment care before and after the procedure to prevent folliculitis.
Could I also be guided on hygiene practices I should follow at home to prevent folliculitis after the procedure?
