Is Botox actually very painful?

I'm generally afraid of needles, so even though I'm interested in Botox, I'm hesitant to book an appointment right away. When I look at reviews, some say it just stings, while others say it was more painful than expected, so I'm curious about the actual level of pain involved. In particular, I want to know if the level of pain varies depending on the area, such as the forehead, glabella, or chin. I'm especially concerned about the glabella... because I have a lot of wrinkles there. I'm also wondering if numbing cream is applied during the procedure, and if there is any throbbing pain or lingering discomfort afterward. For those who received Botox for the first time, please share your experiences: was it okay compared to how nervous you were, and if there were any methods that helped reduce the pain!
