Makeup flaking is a total disaster during the change of seasons ㅠㅠ How often do you exfoliate?

Nice to meet you! Haha. With the weather suddenly turning chilly and dry, I hope everyone's skin is doing well. Since I work all day with the heater blowing directly at me, my skin is drying out like a desert. As a planner, I have frequent external meetings, and no matter how thoroughly I apply my skincare and carefully apply foundation in the morning, by the afternoon, white flakes of dead skin appear around my nose and chin, making me look messy. It's incredibly stressful. ㅠㅠ

I tried using scrubs and peeling gels on my own at home, but it was a vicious cycle where my skin barrier only thinned and became more sensitive, resulting in redness. So, I decided I couldn't go on like this and resolved to get professional exfoliation care at a dermatology clinic. After consulting with the director, I learned that my skin is dehydrated oily on the surface but extremely dry underneath, so I absolutely must not scrub it off aggressively like I'm dead skin at home.

So, I was recommended a gentle exfoliation treatment that softly dissolves impurities without irritation, so I quietly went ahead and received it. It felt cool and moisturizing the entire time, so comfortable that I actually dozed off for a bit haha. After having my skin thoroughly exfoliated by a professional's touch, it definitely felt like my clogged pores had opened up and my skin could finally breathe. When I washed my face the next morning, the texture of my skin felt incredibly soft to the touch, which was so fascinating ㅠㅠ

What I was most satisfied with was that my makeup adhered perfectly to my skin, giving off a subtle glow. But here's a question! What is the ideal frequency for receiving this kind of gentle, clinic-based exfoliation? I'm worried that getting it too often might thin my skin, but if I leave too long a gap, my makeup might start flaking again. Haha. Please share some tips on how often you community members go for your exfoliations!
