It used to be covered to some extent with makeup, but now it doesn't even hide well with concealer, and it seems to be even more noticeable when I'm barefaced. I've been paying attention to sun protection and consistently using whitening cosmetics, but there hasn't been as much change as I expected.
It feels like all my skin concerns are concentrated on just one thing: melasma. In the past, I was only concerned about blemishes, but at some point, the faint melasma around my cheekbones and cheeks started getting darker, and now it's so difficult to cover even with makeup that I'm under a lot of stress.
I've been consistently using whitening cosmetics, taking vitamins, and trying to apply sunscreen thoroughly when going out, but I don't see any significant changes. In fact, now that summer has arrived, it feels like my skin is getting darker, so it bothers me every time I look in the mirror.
I am even more worried because I heard that once melasma appears, it is difficult to get rid of completely. I am thinking of getting toning or laser treatment at a dermatology clinic, but there are so many types and the costs vary so much that I don't know which procedure would be right for me.
If anyone has actually received treatment for melasma, I am curious to know what kind of procedure you received and how many sessions you took to feel the effects.
