How are brown spots scattered from below the cheeks to the side of the chin, blemishes, and moles distinguished during a consultation?

Lately, when I wash my face and look in the mirror in the morning, I notice several light brown spots scattered along the line from below my cheek down to the side of my jaw. One of them is darker and stands out slightly more than the others, so I can't quite tell for myself whether it is just a blemish or something closer to a mole. I suspect this area received a lot of sunlight during the summer when I went out without a mask, and now that late autumn has arrived and my skin has dried out, the color seems to be appearing more distinct. I would like to get a laser consultation, so I would like to ask about things I should know in advance.
