Has anyone tried laser hair removal because of razor burn?

I shave every morning, but lately, red breakouts have been popping up so frequently on my chin and around my mouth that it's driving me crazy. At first, I thought it was just simple acne, but as time goes by, pus is filling up, and the red marks seem to be leaving dark scars, causing me a lot of stress.
I've tried disinfecting the razor frequently and switching to a milder shaving foam, but there is no sign of improvement at all. Since my skin is in this condition, bleeding every morning when I shave has become a daily routine, and it makes me look really unkempt, so I am considering visiting a dermatologist. People around me say that getting laser beard removal reduces hair growth, eliminates shaving irritation, and completely soothes razor burn. Is it really effective?
I would also like to know how many sessions are usually required for the effects to start appearing. If anyone has had laser hair removal, please give me some advice.
