Is the laser hair removal cycle for the calves and arms long, and is the pain very severe?

Hello. I came here because I was having some concerns about hair removal..

Self-hair removal is too much of a hassle, and I feel like my skin is becoming discolored, so I thought I might take this opportunity to try laser hair removal.

I've heard that laser hair removal is usually done in a minimum of 5 sessions. Is it most effective to schedule treatments at one-month intervals?

Also, I tend to be a bit of a wimp... haha. My biggest worry is how painful the laser hair removal will be. I really hope it doesn't hurt...

I am wondering if it is bearable if I apply anesthetic cream before the procedure. My skin tends to be sensitive, so I am curious if redness or irritation lasts a long time after laser hair removal. I would appreciate it if those who have actually had it done could share honest reviews and helpful tips.
