I am writing because of my sensitive, red skin, which turns my entire face red as if it is about to explode during seasonal changes, emotional shifts, or immediately after washing. While others only get slightly red and it goes back to normal quickly, once I feel the heat rising, my cheeks and nose turn bright red like a burning sweet potato, and in severe cases, it is accompanied by burning pain and itching.
I wonder if my skin barrier has completely collapsed; even applying just the mild moisturizer I usually use causes such stinging that it brings me to tears. Because of the redness, I try to cover it up with makeup by applying thick layers of green base or concealer, but this only makes my skin feel more suffocated and leads to a vicious cycle of breakouts.
I was recommended vascular lasers like Synergy or V-Beam at the dermatology clinic, but since my skin is so sensitive, I can't bring myself to make a decision because I'm worried it might actually make my skin break out even worse. Are there any people like me who have had ultra-sensitive skin and severe redness who saw results with barrier-repairing skin boosters (like Rejuran) or redness-reducing lasers? Please share some tips on which treatment was the safest and most effective!
I am attaching a photo of my skin when it was at its worst.
