I can feel something bumpy on my neck, but I'm not sure if it's a skin tag or a flat wart.
They aren't very big; it feels like there are just a few small ones. The color is similar to skin tone, so they aren't very visible from a distance. However, I can definitely feel them when I touch them, so it keeps bothering me.
I searched online and found that it could be a skin tag or a flat wart, but I can't really tell the difference even from the photos. Some people say that things that appear on the neck are mostly skin tags, while others say that flat warts can spread, so it's best to remove them quickly, which makes me even more confused.
Has anyone else started out with just a few bumps to the touch like I did? I am curious if the number increases over time. Mine doesn't itch or hurt, but I find myself constantly touching them for no reason, and I am worried that they might get worse.
I'm not sure if it occurs naturally with age, is caused by skin friction, or is due to a virus. I'm even more concerned because it seems like there are very small ones near my collarbone as well as on my neck.
If I visit a dermatologist, can they immediately distinguish between skin tags and flat warts just by looking at them? Or do they need to examine them under a magnification or undergo other tests? If I were to have them removed, I would like to know if it is possible to do so in a single session with a laser, and if significant scarring or hyperpigmentation would remain.
