I'm interested in laser hair removal, but is it very painful?

My skin is extremely sensitive and I tend to be a total wimp, so I’m really worried before even trying laser hair removal. I’m considering it because I think it would be better than cutting myself and getting breakouts from razoring every morning. I’m really curious about the level of pain—is it just a slight sting? I also want to know if laser hair removal is particularly recommended for people with sensitive skin or thick hair roots. If anyone who has already had the procedure could honestly share their experience in the comments—whether the intensity is manageable for someone like me who has sensitive skin and is easily scared—it would be a huge help in making my decision!
