I'm scared to get laser hair removal for the first time because it seems to hurt more than I thought lol

I've been managing my hair with just a razor, but now it's getting too much of a hassle, so I'm looking into laser hair removal haha.

My hair isn't particularly thick, but it grows quite fast, so it starts looking dark after just two days, which is actually kind of stressful for me. It bothers me even more in the summer since I wear short sleeves or sleeveless tops often.

So I'm thinking of getting laser hair removal done properly this time, but my biggest worry is, as expected, the pain lol.

People around me say it feels like being snapped by a rubber band, but everyone has a different opinion. Some say it's no big deal, while others say it stings more than expected, so I'm scared.

For those of you who have had laser hair removal for the first time, how painful was it actually?

I'm also curious if the pain varies significantly depending on the area. I'd like to know if places with thicker hair, like the armpits, hurt more, or if areas with thinner skin sting more.

Also, are there cases where anesthetic cream is used when getting laser hair removal?

I have a low tolerance for pain, so I'm worried I might end up stopping halfway through trying to endure it haha.

I am also wondering if I can tell them immediately to adjust the intensity if it gets too hot during the procedure.

I also want to know if the burning or stinging sensation lingers for a long time after laser hair removal.

I am also wondering if it only hurts briefly during the procedure and is fine once it's over, or if my skin becomes sensitive for a few hours.

I would especially like to know if the first session is the most painful, or if the pain feels less intense as the hair decreases after a few sessions.
